The UKs plastic pact essentially aims to eliminate unnecessary single use plastics by 2025.

There are a number of targets set which include;

• 100% of plastic packaging is to be reusable, recyclable or compostable.
• 70% of plastic packaging to be effectively recycled or composted.
• Take action to eliminate problematic or unnecessary single-use packaging items.
• 30% average of recycled content across all plastic packaging.

A large number of high profile businesses have already signed up, committing to the target of the 2025 Plastic Pact, including Asda, Coca Cola, M & S, Tesco and Unilever to name just a few.
